On December 8, the Foundation
hosted a reception to honor its
Corporate Council. Since 2006,
this group of business leaders has
donated more than $500,000—and
has funded equipment worth $75,000
last year alone. The funds, which
come from both dues and generous
donations of the companies repre-
sented on the Corporate Council,
help make important new equipment
purchases possible.
Since its formation in 2006, the
Corporate Council’s donations have
supported an array of health services
and technologies for Tri-City Medical
Center. The council’s efforts have
helped provide equipment for the
Wellness Center, educational out-
reach to promote health and wellness
in the community, bar code technol-
ogy to ensure medication is accurately
dispensed, and much more.
The council works to mobilize the
resources of the business community
to ensure excellence in healthcare
at Tri-City Medical Center. Members
include civic-minded corporate
leaders who have made a com-
mitment to the growth and
stability of the region’s leading
healthcare provider.
“Our role is to mobilize the
resources of the business community
to assure excellence in healthcare at
Tri-City Medical Center for the people
who live and work in our communi-
ties,” said Joseph Mason, chairman of
the Corporate Council and vice presi-
dent of strategic accounts for Cardinal
Health, Inc. “We encourage all North
County businesses to join in giving
back to our community hospital.”
More than 76 departments and 400 employees participated in the
Foundation’s employee fundraising campaign, which wrapped up
in December. The campaign raised funds to support Women’s
and Children’s Services, the hospital’s Birth Center and the Neo-
natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Employees focused on raising funds to pay for fetal monitors,
biliblankets, and a BiliChek system, which is a screening tool for
neonatal jaundice.
“Employees at Tri-City Medical Center are one of our most val-
ued assets,” said Tobi Ferguson, the Foundation’s president and
chief development officer. “The Foundation counts on employee
giving to support the Foundation, our programs and services.”
Employees at Tri-City Medical Center are leaders in supporting
Tri-City Medical Center. They consistently live the hospital’s mis-
sion and provide compassionate and caring service to individuals
in the community—patients, neighbors and fellow employees.
They express pride in Tri-City Medical Center, knowing they are
touching the lives of others in north San Diego County.
The Foundation hosted monthly Friday events, called “Foun-
dation Fridays,” to thank and recognize campaign participants
for their commitment to the Foundation’s mission of supporting
Tri-City Medical Center.
