race began at 6 a.m.
with the elite
marathoners and
ended hours later as
runners and walkers
crossed the finish line
with their own
unique expressions
of joy.

Our Docs on Bikes pedaled the
course, keeping an eye out for runners
needing assistance, while our nurses and
other clinicians volunteered their time to
make sure all 10,000 contestants had a
safe and healthy experience.
For the third year in a row, the Tri-City Medical Center
Carlsbad Marathon and Half Marathon was a trans-
formative event that touched the lives of employees,
physicians, administrators and our Lucky 10 team
of runners, who all reached their goals and realized
their dreams.
The weekend-long event began with a Health and
Wellness EXPO on Friday, Jan. 20, and ended with the
races on Sunday.
That same Sunday, Tri-City Medical Center pre-
sented the Health Fair and Mariachi Concert at the
Moonlight Amphitheatre in Vista. Attended by nearly
1,000 people, the event was held in appreciation for
and recognition of our diverse community.
